Out on the Cromarty Firth sit giant desolate oil rigs. These were brought here when declared inactive for repair and left to wait. Wait until oil prices improve. Until they do, it’s not cost efficient to keep them running so they sit here on the shores of northern Scotland and wait. Whilst some might think them an eye sore, I thought they were beautiful. Giant metal structures, dwarfed only by the stunning landscape. Machine and nature intertwined.
