Chanonry Rock

Stood at Chanonry Point you get an almost 360° view of the Moray Firth. This is regarded as one of the best spots to see wild dolphins in Scotland which I did! The skies were incredibly atmospheric over the firth with storms approaching. Inspired by David Quentin’s exploits with a camera I threw a rock and caught this on the first go! Subsequent attempts failed dramatically. Unlike David’s photos, my backdrop and landscape is out of focus, as I had to bring my aperture right down to maximise my shutter speed. I do really like the effect though and think the colours have come out particularly well. It was a fun experience and I felt naughty throwing rocks on the beach which is always fun.
