National Theatre

The internet is probably saturated with pictures of the National Theatre and I can understand why – it’s architecturally very interesting, with interlocking layers jutting out over several floors like a half-finished game of giant Jenga. It offers large open balcony spaces at varying heights, perfect for a cold beer on a sunny afternoon. When I worked in London, I would sometimes meet my brother there and we’d have a drink, watching out over the Southbank. It’s monochrome colour palette can actually make it appear quite cold, dull and solid but it still feels like it’s full of character, perhaps because the theatre inside brings it to life.
