When taking this photo I was on top of a small bridge, with running water underneath. I’d crossed the road with the intention of photographing the water, trying out different shutter speeds on my camera to see if I could make the water look silky like I’d seen in other photos. I wasn’t inspired by what I saw but when I looked up I saw this wonderful windy road leading up to what I can only assume was somebody’s home. I enjoyed the way the road meandered towards this gate which never to have closed. I liked that the gate had no fence on its other side. It didn’t appear to have any intention of keeping anything out. It was just a feature in front of a picturesque backdrop.
