Walking up Museum Street in London I walked past this gentleman sitting outside this cafe smoking a cigarette with his small espresso cup. He was relaxed and blended in perfectly to his surroundings. I crossed the road and raised my camera to attempt capturing him in this moment. Clearly not as subtly as i’d hoped he stubbed his cigarette out, stood up and began to move away, back into the cafe he’d taken a break from. I only managed to freeze him in this moment and unfortunately chopped his feet off slightly. I aim to capture more people in public spaces – this photo is a good example of a shot where it didn’t necessarily go to plan but looking at it afterwards, I probably appreciate more because I remember the action that surrounded it.
