A couple of sessions into my new photography course and I ventured out into the countryside after work to try and capture some of the beautiful sunsets we’d been having in the area. Full of enthusiasm I clambered through a bush to try and capture the perfect composition for my shot. I even dipped one leg of my tripod into a cowpat to ensure i’d set the camera exactly where I wanted it! I trialled a range of different settings to bring out the deep reds, oranges and purples in the sky using a long exposure. Without any graduating filters the trees remain silhouettes but I didn’t mind that when I saw the colours that came out from the horizon. Much more to learn, but a happy introduction to capturing landscapes and sunsets.
