Oslo was a real treat with much to see around the city. Out from the city centre are a collection of museums including the Norwegian Maritime Museum and Fram Museum. The Fram museum exhibits the Fram ship used by Fridtjof Nansen and is dedicated to the story of Norwegian polar expeditions. This was my favourite museum by far and I could have spent hours enjoying the exhibits many of which were interactive. I was there during winter, so it was very cold outside and the museum provided a nice break from the chill as well. When I was leaving I spotted this monument dedicated to great Norwegian polar explores. It pictures them looking out to sea. I have made the photo monochrome in an attempt to reflect the mood of the scene with the cold wind and icy chill in the air. The sailors stood firm and unmoving.
